  Stahl the eye center has a full service optical department at each of its three locations. Our optical departments are headed up by Galo Andrade, New York State licensed optician since 1982. He is an active member of the National Academy of Opticianry and is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners. Furthermore, he is a certified assistant in Ophthalmology.  He serves our team as the director of optical services and contact lens consultant.  His dedication and extensive knowledge in the optical field has helped thousands of patients reach their visual potential.

Our premium progressive lenses, sometimes referred to as no-line bifocals, not only provide visual correction for distance that traditional lined bifocals can not, but they also hide the fact that you are even wearing reading glasses. No one needs to know whether you’re sporting a pair of fashionable eyeglasses or if your arms have grown too short to allow you to read. Progressive lenses provide you with the most natural vision. Not only will you be able to see things both near and far, but also all the distances in between known as the intermediate zone.

  Choosing the appropriate progressive lens is the only way to achieve outstanding vision. The “supermarket/discount” optical uses second tier progressive lenses. These lenses have significantly more distortion throughout the lens and a smaller intermediate reading zone, thus making it more difficult to adjust to wearing your lenses. We at Stahl Eye Center use only premium progressive lenses. Our award winning lenses, Varilux Panamic, Zeiss, and our newest most exciting brand, Definity, allow you to seamlessly see distances near and far without any discomfort. These premium progressive lenses help you regain the ability to see at all distances smoothly and more naturally.
