This eliminates the waiting time and blurry near vision associated with dilation, and also gives us a digital record of your retina for future comparison. The Optomap™ takes seconds to perform for each eye and produces a complete view of the central and outer retina, allowing us to diagnose everything from macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal tears, retinal detachment, and eye tumors. Because the retinal image is displayed on the monitor in your exam room, your doctor will be able to point to specific areas of concern and allow you to better understand what treatment options are available to you. We begin with a thorough visual assessment and determine if you might benefit from eyeglasses, contact lenses or a change in your eyeglass prescription. Our full-service optical shop carries a wide variety of frames and high-tech lenses and our optical staff will help you choose a pair of eyeglasses that satisfies your needs. More information about our optical shop can be obtained in our optical shop link. Some of our patients inquire about LASIK surgery and we are happy to discuss this option with you.

We check the eye pressure and discuss whether you may be at risk for developing glaucoma. Sometimes, additional tests may be performed on the day of examination to further assess your risk for developing this sight-threatening disease.

Your eye care does not end with your examination. If necessary, we coordinate care with your primary physician to optimize your visual health and arrange appointments for additional follow-up.
